Road safety Working group

Change ahead

P&C are looking for parents and community members to join a working group on the safety of our children with pick up and drop off around Wamberal Public School.

WPS now have 733 students arriving all between 9am and 9.30am and leaving at 3.30pm in high traffic areas and close to main roads.

We are already in discussions with Adam Crouch MP – Member for Terrigal who is very supportive and keen to assist change.

After two meetings we now want to form a community P&C working group to liaison with Local members, RMS, Gosford council and the school.

If you are interested in joining this working group please email ua.gr1540108523o.cdn1540108523aplar1540108523ebmaw1540108523@ytef1540108523asdao1540108523r1540108523 or drop a note into the P&C mail box located in the school foyer with your contact details.

We are after parent/community feedback with positive actions that can support the need for a managed approach to our current traffic congestion.

We would expect that this working group meet with Adam Crouch MP – Member for Terrigal and local council from time to time.

  1. Not yet discussed but mentioned by parents:
Parking bay lines placed in both Aldinga and Lea ave to maximize parking spots
Round a bout painted end of Lea Ave to better manager traffic flow up Lea Ave
Removal of tree along Lea ave one side and put in foot path and parking lines
Extension of footpath in Lea Ave.

  2. Some ideas already discussed but need to working group to be involved in are:
Kiss n Drop in Aldinga drive managed by school staff (similar to buss controls), bus zone moved
Just keeping you all updated so you know whats going on. (local RMS & Adam Crouch office)
Double lines down Lea Ave to assist with the U-turns outside the school gates (Local RMS and Adam Crouch office))
Set of traffic lights Lea Ave into Tumbi Road (Federal Government issue)
